LaVell Edwards

General comments about the game:

"There's just no way to simulate the quickness and execution that Air Force brings to the game.  It's so hard to prepare for that in practice because they're so incredibly fast."

"They're great blockers, with their roll-blocking technique because they take your legs out from under you.  It's really hard to defend -- it's not illegal what they do, but it's very effective."

About the defense:  "That was such a big stand when we held them twice on first and goal."

About Dustin Staley, who started at safety:  "I just can't say enough about Dustin Staley and his play at strong safety.  He came in and played tremendous ball with hardly any experience."

On Kevin Feterik's play:  "Kevin's playing as well as anyone we've had here."

Dustin Staley

About adjusting to Air Force's offense:  "It took a few series just to start feeling comfortable with it, but after a while we started being able to make our reads and fill our assignments."

When somebody mentioned that his "little" brother Luke says that he always used to pick on him:  "That's why he's so tough."

On playing with his brother:  "It's great.  He was always so much younger growing up.  It's been an awesome, awesome experience playing together.  You know, just the support; just knowing each other is out there."

About Luke's pre-game advice for him today:  "When he started the first game, I went up to him and said, 'You know, it's just football out there, just like you've always played.  It's just football out there.'  So he came up to me today and said, "Remember, it's just football.'"

Jared Lee

About avenging last year's loss to Air Force:  "Everybody wanted to play good against them -- everybody wanted to get back at them, and show that that we're the better team, the better program.  Last year, BYU really dominated that game and Air Force came out winning, and it almost happened again today, so it was big to beat them."

About off-field game preparations:  "Josh (Lowe) and I are actually roommates, so we watch a lot of film together and re-enact plays in the living room and the parking lot.  We get our roommates to line up and do a little simulation for us."

On his progress this season: "Right now I'm playing with a lot more confidence.  And once you start making plays, it raises your confidence level and you start playing even better."

Josh Lowe

On Air Force's comeback:  "I was pretty nervous.  More than anything it's just frustrating to work so hard all game long and see things slipping away.  It was a surge of energy for us."

About his blindside sack:  I was just on an outside blitz, and the wingback went in motion away from me, so I just thought, 'Happy birthday.'"

Margin Hooks

About his touchdown catch:  "I ran a 15-yard dig across the middle and Kevin threw it to the soft spot.  When I caught it, I knew I was going to get hit, but the two of them kind of held me up, and then I rolled toward the cornerback because I knew there was no one there."

When asked if he knew the Air Force defender was knocked out:  "I had no idea."

About turning on the afterburners on that catch.:  "Oh, for about 20 yards.  Then my hamstrings started tightening up.  It was like, 'Don't get caught!  Don't get caught!  High step, high step, high step!  Cross the goal line, whoa!'"

When asked if he's expecting 100 yard receiving games:  "Actually, I've been expecting a 200 yard game."

Owen Pochman

About his kicking technique:  "I changed my kick a little over the summer and straightened out my ball.  I used to put a little more hook on it, and it took a few games to get used to it, but I'm feeling pretty good now."

Rob Morris

Regarding his post-game plans:  "I'm going to be Margin (Hooks) for Halloween."

When asked if he felt comfortable against the option:  "I never feel -- I hate the option.  It's weird for me all the time, it's hard.  Generally, middle linebackers have a tough time against the option because they get blocked so much.  There are guys hitting you constantly -- they're like little gnats that just won't go away."

Ribbing Kevin Feterik:  "Kevin has never blocked a soul in his life.  He's an honorary linebacker though."

Thoughts on LaVell Edwards:  "He's one of the greatest guys I've ever met.  I almost get emotional just talking about him.  He talks to you a lot about life; everything's not football.  Football's not life to us."

Kevin Feterik

About Margin Hooks' touchdown run:  "I thought he was going to get caught from behind, but he showed that 4.2 speed he's always talking about."

About not throwing many deep passes:  "We worked teams deep early in the season, obviously that's their game plan--not to let us go deep."
